Phần mềm SmartPLS có nhiều phiên bản khác nhau từ phiên bản 2.0 M3 ban đầu và hiện nay là phiên bản mới nhất SmartPLS 3.2.9. Tại trang chủ SmartPLS thì giá phiên bản mới 3.2.9 có chi phí cao do được nâng cấp và hoàn thiện nhiều chức năng, nhiều kiểm định mới cũng như các vá lỗi các phiên bản trước. Trong khi đó phiên bản 2.0 M3 đã được miễn phí cho các học viên, nhà nghiên cứu chưa có đủ tài chính để nâng cấp.
